| Should You Have Valentines Flowers Delivered? |
|
There comes a point in every relationship, usually around the end of January, when an all important question must be answered. Should I have a Valentine bouquet delivered? If so, which ones? There is much that rides on getting these questions right. If you send the wrong kind of flowers too early in the relationship then you could be setting yourself up for an embarrassing rejection. On the other hand, if you do not have Valentines flowers delivered, you could find yourself in a deep well of trouble.
Deciding whether or not to have Valentines flowers delivered depends on where you are in your relationship. Obviously, if you have been together for long while (6 months or more) and things are fairly serious then by all means have the biggest, most beautiful Valentines flowers delivered that you can buy. For these special romances, a bouquet of long stem red roses is the traditional way to express your deep feelings for your significant other. If red seems too passionate, you can tone it down some by giving pink or even white roses instead.
It is not the long term relationships that one has to worry about. It is those pairing that have been together for less than six months, or are only testing the waters, that induce such uncertainty when the day devoted to love rolls around. Relationships are such fickle things. They may seem like they are going in one direction down a lovely stream but stirring the water with an unexpected surprise can send the relationship in a whole other direction that one may not have intended.
Therefore, to determine whether you should have Valentines flowers delivered and what kind, try to feel out what your partner thinks about the relationship. Ask open ended questions that require more than one or two words to answer. Questions like, "How have you enjoyed our time together so far?" and "Where do you see us six months from now?" should provide enough information to give you an idea of how your partner sees your relationship.
If you are casually dating and your partner's response indicates that that is all they want, having Valentine gifts delivered is still a nice gesture. However, you will want to bypass the roses and send flowers more appropriate for a casual friendship. Forget-me-nots, daisies, and even carnations in bright, cheery colors with lots of green foliage surrounding them can express feelings of camaraderie without making the receiver think the relationship is moving in an unwanted direction.
On the other hand, if you get answers that indicate they wish to move into a deeper and more meaningful relationship then you should have Valentines flowers delivered that signify the promise of wonderful things to come. Roses would be appropriate here but instead of giving the traditional dozen in one solid color, mix it up. Give red and white, or pink and yellow, or orange and white flowers instead. Let them symbolize the fact that you are two individuals slowly blending into one connected soul.
If you are still having a difficult time deciding whether to have Valentine's Day flowers delivered now, then listen to your heart. Love speaks a very distinct language and the answer your heart gives you will surely be the right one. |
